I've been exploring wilderness for over three decades starting with the woods around my childhood home in New Hampshire. I thru-hiked the entirety of the Appalachian Trail in 2004 and have been travelling the country backpacking and contributing to Backpacker Magazine since 2003 as a gear-tester, map contributor, writer and photographer. My full-time profession is Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment management. I'm hoping, through this forum, to offer information and insight to those interested in wilderness adventure as well as to find new opportunities in outdoor writing, photography, gear, and other aspects of the outdoor recreation industry. I am a father of two beautiful girls.
